To celebrate the upcoming release of The House with a Clock in Its Walls in the UK on 21st September, PosterSpy, in association with Amblin and Entertainment One, invite you to create an alternative movie poster for the film, in the style of an Amblin classic.
In the tradition of Amblin classics where fantastical events occur in the most unexpected places, Jack Black and two-time Academy Award® winner Cate Blanchett star in The House with a Clock in Its Walls.
The magical adventure tells the spine-tingling tale of 10-year-old Lewis (Owen Vaccaro) who goes to live with his uncle in a creaky old house with a mysterious tick-tocking heart. But his new town’s sleepy façade jolts to life with a secret world of warlocks and witches when Lewis accidentally awakens the dead.
We’re looking for posters that evoke the magical nostalgia of classic Amblin movies, films like the below:
To clarify, we’re not looking for direct homage posters or “re-creations” but rather to draw inspiration from the techniques and rendering styles used in the above classics. We still want to see your vision. Don’t be afraid to use your style or compositional techniques and more than anything, just have fun!
Please also find stills and all available assets via the “hi-res imagery” tab for further reference and inspiration only.
Please reference the trailer for themes and context and the classic Amblin posters provided for inspiration for your creations.
Create your posters at A3 300dpi Minimum.
Please see “How to submit”.
Upload posters to PosterSpy.com as RGB files no larger than 5MB and 1500 pixels wide.
Artwork submitted must be 100% your own original content. Do not use any images you don’t have the rights to. This includes stills from the film.
