PosterSpy X ATARI 2600+
THE BRIEF
PLAION UK commissioned us to design 5 unique posters for the new ATARI 2600+ console promotion. Through our website, we initiated a call to action, inviting our community to share their portfolios for potential collaboration. PLAION aimed to create 5 posters capturing the nostalgic and enjoyable aspects of gaming with the iconic ATARI system.
OUR APPROACH
Collaborating closely with PLAION, we sought out 5 artists whose styles would resonate with ATARI enthusiasts. Each artist was tasked with generating 2-3 concepts, provided with reference material like vintage game covers, retro visuals, and a list of ATARI titles, including the new console. Our art direction guided the creative process, leading all 5 artists to craft distinctive and visually appealing illustrations that strongly connected with fans of the iconic gaming brand.

It’s been great working with PosterSpy on this project from start to finish. I have done similar projects that had the same stages and requirements so I roughly knew what to expect while working towards getting the best concepts out of this project’s poster design.
KEVIN TIERNAN
I felt like my style could lend itself to the whimsy of the ATARI games, and I have some experience designing old school gaming posters for Gallery1988. I also knew that this would be a fun project to work on (can confirm it was!)
