This weekend the Vice Press OPEN HOUSE poster convention and social took place at the Trafalgar Warehouse in Sheffield.
Joining Vice Press’s Matt and James, were artists Mark Bell, Nada Makatari, James James James, Hannah Gillingham, Raid71, Royalston Design, Doaly, Sam Gilbey, Bella Grace, Andy Fairhurst, Andrew Swainson and John J Pearson. Vice Press also invited Moor Art Gallery, Bear Tree Records and Rogue Print Co.
The doors officially opened to guests at 11 am. The event gave collectors a chance to take home a selection of limited-edition art prints – and meet the artists in person. For others, it was a great way to socialise and catch up with friends.
I went for the social aspect (I already have too many posters as it is). Although I did pick up a few bits, like the Banana t-shirt from James James James which is a parody of the famous Nirvana logo.
Having done events similar to this in the past, I know how time-consuming and expensive this kind of thing can be. But it’s always 100% worth it to see the community come together.
The event was a huge success and from what we’ve heard… Vice Press should be returning with an Open House in 2024. So if you missed this event, you can join them next year.
