One would think that with the popularity of comic book movies, especially the Marvel Cinematic Universe span of those movies, that the genre might have run its course. Towards the end of this year, I started noticing people making comments via Twitter and Reddit that they were tired of the same ol’ comic book movie and that they were ready for something new. Funny how all that talk has all but ceased to be once Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse came out. The fresh animation along with a new angle on a familiar brand name has really spun the comic book movie world on its head. Everyone I talk to, everything I read, has been nothing short of amazed by almost every aspect of the film. Needless to say, that when you’ve got something this good, the artists out there take notice and really take advantage of something so special. This time around the film actually has a VERY unique style all it’s own and it’s been fun to see how the artists out there have been putting their own spin on it.
