Second Poster in PosterSpy x ATARI 2600+ Project Revealed!

Over the past month, we’ve been working with 5 members of the PosterSpy community to create scroll-stopping, bespoke artwork to promote the new ATARI 2600+ console. Initially, our public call out garnered over 120 applications for this paid commission and Estevan Silveira was one of the chosen artists based on his fantastic portfolio.

Dominik’s poster is the first to be revealed, with others being shared across November in the lead up the console’s release.

Here it is!

What made you apply for the ATARI commission via PosterSpy?

I love videogames and ATARI is special to me. I had one when I was a kid so I couldn’t miss a chance like that.

How did you find the experience working on a PosterSpy commission?

It was great. The briefing and all the needed information was clear. I think everything went really well.

What was the biggest challenge when creating your piece?

Since the beginning I was looking to pay tribute to the gaming experience and to the iconic games that comes with this new version of ATARI 2600+. I wanted some colorful, dynamic and nostalgic approach for the poster. For this design, the challenge was to create a dynamic piece with all references working together in the same composition and make them all recognizable.

Did the final piece turn out how you initially planned?

Yes! I got super excited with the final result. Actually, I think it exceeded my expectations. I had a very clear vision of what I wanted, but as I started working and trying things, other ideas ended up emerging and the final result surprised me in a positive way.

How does it feel to be part of the ATARI legacy?

Very happy. I couldn’t be more proud of it!

What inspired your design?

I always loved the classic ATARI’s cartridges artwork. All that vintage/retro feeling, it’s something so remarkable in the history of the console, so unique, that it’s never left my mind. The advertising pieces, the TV commercials, all that feeling of newness inspired me to do this design.
