After last night’s epic and impassioned speech of Jonathan Glazer during the 96th Academy Awards, where his film The Zone Of Interest took the gold statue for Best International Feature Film, I felt compelled and urged to create a new piece for one of my two favorite films in the race. A little something to honor his words, the movie’s spirit, and the haunting sequences of the Polish girl picking apples during the night as a sign of hope, defiance, and dignity, inspired by a true-life woman named Alexandra whom Glazer met during the film’s production and to whom he dedicated the award.
