Fifth Poster in PosterSpy x ATARI 2600+ Project Revealed!

Over the past month, we’ve been working with 5 members of the PosterSpy community to create scroll-stopping, bespoke artwork to promote the new ATARI 2600+ console. Initially, our public call out garnered over 120 applications for this paid commission and Mariano Arcamone was one of the chosen artists based on his fantastic portfolio.

Kevin’s poster is the third of five to be revealed, with others being shared across November in the lead up the console’s release.

Here it is!

What made you apply for the ATARI commission via PosterSpy?

I found the proposal interesting, especially in being able to apply my skills related to music and cinema to new scenarios, such as video games.

How did you find the experience working on a PosterSpy commission?

It was great, enjoyable, and I’d be thrilled to collaborate again in the future.

What was the biggest challenge when creating your piece?

The biggest challenge was creating a piece where illustrated 8-bit elements could harmoniously coexist with the rest of the illustration.

Did the final piece turn out as you initially planned?

Yes, as always, the concept evolved a bit from the initial sketch to the final version, leading to unexpected and exciting results. I was very pleased with the final outcome.

How does it feel to be part of the ATARI legacy?

It’s fantastic; I’ve always aspired to design something for Atari! I hope the fans appreciate it.

What inspired your design?

It was primarily inspired by the game Missile Command. I found it intriguing to blend the Atari 2600 console with a missile launch control center.
