Frankie Smith

North Hollywood

I'm a sketch and storyboard artist in Los Angeles. While most of my work is done in digital (Photoshop, mostly), I have a traditional background and love to take breaks from the computer by working with pen and ink, graphite, watercolor and gouache. I love the pulp art from the 50s, 60s and 70s. And I love the movie posters that came out of those decades (and earlier). I really want to capture that look, style and classic compositions in my own work. Big inspirations for me are Richard Amsel, Frank McCarthy and Robert McGinnis. My goal is to only work as a key and sketch artist as thats my first love and number one passion as an artist.
Much gratitude to sites like Poster Spy for giving me the opportunity to further my skills and share my work.
