Return Of The Jedi – 40th Anniversary Fan Art

My second favourite Star Wars movie after the original, and one that holds a very special place in my heart. After watching it most of my life, I have seen it in recent years through the eyes of being a father. One thing that struck me recently was the title – that it wasn’t necessarily about Luke becoming a Jedi and that is how they return, but maybe it’s about Luke returning his father to the Jedi. I wanted to show how he helped cover the history and character of Darth Vader, before literally returning Anakin to the other Jedi in the finale. I was influenced by the Tim Reamer lightsaber poster from back in 1983 – a version of the poster I always loved due to it being used on the paperback movie adaptation I couldn’t put down as a kid.
