Once Upon A Time In Hollywood - option 2

I wanted to create a series of illustrations for this contest, one for each of the main characters. The idea after that was to use the pieces and make different layouts using the elements from the main posters. To achieve this I painted at twice resolution and with each element on it’s own layer in Photoshop. In terms of the style, I have been working on this ‘retro’ style for most of the year so it was pretty simple in applying it to these illustrations.

It’s also important to note that the layout and look of these illustrations was inspired by Steve Chorney’s work for Inherent Vice. Steve Chorney also did the official poster for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, coincidently.
