I am One With The Force

I recently upgraded from a Wacom Intuos Pro to the Cintiq HD so I wanted to give myself a project to test the equipment out. The brief was simple, create a poster based on last character in a movie you loved. Top of the list was martial arts master Donnie Yen who played Chirrut Îmwe in the Star Wars spin off movie, Rogue One. I may go out on a limb here and say I preferred it more than I did the Force Awakens. So getting to grips with the equipment. Drawing straight onto the Cintiq tablet screen seemed fast, fluid and much more natural. I opted for the 13 inch model and I can already see that applications quickly fill the screen, leaving you less space to draw. I’ve always used a large Intuos Pro which has suited me perfectly for layout work through to digital or printed campaigns but having finished my first project with the Cintiq I’m really excited by the results and what future possibilities bring.
