Hi, you’ve recently followed my profile and then put up this poster that is awfully close to one of my designs. Have you copied?

Guys I wouldn’t argue too much over it, both the entries consist of the AMY text over a photo of Amy Winehouse.. many entries like it, if both your entries were illustrated in a particular style and his entry replicated it then fair enough.

Not starting an argument, simply asking a question :)

I would like to say also, there is so much focus within PosterSpy on illustration (particularly the use of converting a photo into a vector image) and this constant putting down of a photographic/type composition. I’m a graphic designer and suitable uses of colour, branding and layout are just as strong as illustration.

For example this, is really good: https://posterspy.com/poster/boyhood-keyart-1/. Great use of typography, imagery etc.

Simon, that’s what this site is about, alternative posters that use artistic techniques to create interesting pieces of art. Using text and image together can be great, if done really nicely. But simply text on photos doesn’t always look great. That’s the whole reason ‘alternative posters’ exist. To do something different than what the studios produce.
