PosterSpy X ATARI 2600+
THE BRIEF
We were asked by PLAION UK to create 5 bespoke, illustrated posters to help promote the new ATARI 2600+ console.
View our website we hosted a call to action and invited our community to submit their portfolios for consideration.
PLAION’s main focus was producing 5 posters to evoke the retro, fun and exciting experience plays have with ATARI.
OUR APPROACH
We worked with PLAION to find 5 artists who had a style that would make fans of ATARI connect with the work. Each artist was asked to produce 2-3 concepts and they were supplied reference material including old game covers, retro imagery and a list of ATARI titles to include. Artists were also asked to include the new console. With our art direction all 5 artists created unique, beautiful illustrators that resonated with fans.

WHAT OUR ARTISTS HAD TO SAY
Scott Balmer
“It’s been great working with PosterSpy on this project from start to finish. I have done similar projects that had the same stages and requirements so I roughly knew what to expect while working towards getting the best concepts out of this project’s poster design.”
Kevin Tiernan
I felt like my style could lend itself to the whimsy of the ATARI games, and I have some experience designing old school gaming posters for Gallery1988. I also knew that this would be a fun project to work on (can confirm it was!)
